Meet Steve Shafer

Steve Shafer spent 14 years at Microsoft Research, where he was involved in some of the earliest work on smart building technology. Now a part-time lecturer at Khoury College, he is excited to be part of an education program that is beginning to look more like industry.

There is an excitement in the air at Khoury. There is a sense that we are moving. We are expanding in what we offer, in what we teach. We’re adapting to the fact that we’re so distributed, which is how industry works today. And our education program looks more like industry as we expand and adapt to how we forge a community across different locations. I think that excitement is really precious
