She leads an interdisciplinary research program focused on solving complex problems of designing technologies at the intersection of mixed reality (XR) and human-computer Interaction to support human health and well-being, collaborative and creative tasks, and social interactions in VR.

Ryan M. Rad

Assistant Teaching Professor

Ryan Rad is an assistant teaching professor at Khoury College with backgrounds in teaching, research, engineering, and management. He has founded two companies in the last decade and is currently active in computational biology, machine learning, and personal health informatics research.

Parsa Rajabi

Part-Time Lecturer

Parsa Rajabi is a part-time teaching faculty member at Khoury College, as well as the director of the Artificial Intelligence for Education Lab and an open education researcher with Simon Fraser University’s learning and instructional services. He is interested in computer science education – particularly the domains of AI education and computational thinking – and on human-computer interaction.

Logan Schmidt

Associate Teaching Professor, Assistant Director of Computing Programs – Vancouver

Logan Schmidt is an associate teaching professor at Khoury College, and the assistant director of computing programs for the Vancouver campus. He is a graduate of the Align program himself, and in both his research and teaching work he aims to introduce newcomers to computer science fundamentals in a way that helps them effectively build new careers.

Maryam Tanha is an assistant teaching professor in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Vancouver. Tanha’s research interests are deeply rooted in detecting Android malware and designing resilient software-defined networks.

Jack Thomas

Assistant Teaching Professor

Jack Thomas is an assistant teaching professor at Khoury College. Robotics are what captures his imagination, both as a researcher and a teacher, although he also works in other areas including the social implications of computing, databases, data structures, algorithms and software engineering.
